With the signing of two dual threat quarterbacks, a position that has been wanting for some years, is now in lock down for at least the next four or five years. FAMU returns three potentially strong quarterbacks in senior Vincent Jeffries, redshirt freshmen Tahj Tolbert, and last year’s starter, sophomore Ryan Stanley. Competition will be heavy for the starting and backup spots.
At 6’4”, 215 pounds, Dekovin Cann Jr is a two star recruit. A dual threat quarterback, he runs the 40 yard dash in 4.68 seconds. Recruited as a quarterback, Dekovin also played free safety at Dixie Hollins High School in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is one of the reasons that the quarterback position has gone from one of the weakest to the strongest position on the team.
